The UFC will return to Toronto for the first time in over a year, with UFC 336 confirmed for Scotiabank Arena on January 30. The announcement was made during the UFC Edmonton broadcast, with no bouts yet named for the card.

The last UFC event in Toronto was held in January 2024, headlined by a middleweight title fight in which Dricus du Plessis edged Sean Strickland via split decision to claim the championship. The co-main event saw Raquel Pennington defeat Mayra Bueno Silva to capture a vacant bantamweight title — a night that delivered two championship changes at the same venue.

UFC 336 will be the eighth numbered event the promotion has staged in Toronto, a city that has hosted some of the organisation’s most significant moments over the past two decades.

“I’m excited to partner with the Ministry of Sport and bring UFC back to Toronto,” UFC CEO Dana White said in a press release. “I love Canada and Toronto has been home to some of the biggest moments in UFC history. It’s always incredible to put on an event there, and I am excited to get back next year.”

With five months until fight night, the promotion has yet to reveal a main event or any supporting bouts for the January card. Further announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
