Two goals and an assist: Sinayoko propels Paris FC to the top of Ligue 1
Author of a brace and an assist against Monaco (3-1) in Matchday 9, Lassine Sinayoko confirms his status as Ligue 1's leading scorer with 8 goals and takes Paris FC to fourth place.
Lassine Sinayoko made the difference once again. On Sunday, Paris FC dominated AS Monaco 3-1 at Jean-Bouin in Matchday 9 of Ligue 1, climbing to fourth place in the standings, three points behind leaders PSG and just one point behind Lille.
The Mali international was involved in all three of his team’s goals. He opened the scoring in the 38th minute, doubled the lead in the 44th, then provided an assist for Pablo Pagis in the 74th. A complete performance that illustrates the impact of the former AJ Auxerre player since his arrival in Paris this summer for just 8 million euros.
Sinayoko is now alone at the top of Ligue 1’s scoring chart with 8 goals in nine matches, and ranks second among playmakers with 5 assists. His average rating in L’Équipe stands at 6.56/10 for the season, well ahead of Lucas Tousart (Brest) and Adil Bourabaa (Le Mans), both at 6.20/10. This is the third time in nine matches that he has been included in the weekend team of the week by the sports daily, which awarded him a 9/10 for this match.
Thanks to this victory, Paris FC is establishing itself as a serious title contender. The capital club is just one point behind Lille in second place and three points behind PSG, leaders of the championship.
