A single player claimed the entire £1,000 prize pot in Round 2 of FourFourTwo’s free-to-play World Cup match predictor, after correctly predicting 20 out of 24 results — a score no other participant managed to equal.

The competition has now reached Round 4, with the knockout stages raising the difficulty considerably. Rather than predicting straightforward win, lose or draw outcomes, players must now identify which nation will progress from eight Round of 32 fixtures, with total goals scored in normal time serving as a tiebreaker.

With Round 2 settled and Round 3 also closed, there are still five rounds remaining in the competition, meaning five further opportunities to win the £1,000 pot outright. The format becomes progressively more demanding as the tournament advances, moving from predicting winners through to correct scorelines in the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and ultimately the third-place playoff and World Cup final.

The schedule for remaining rounds is as follows: Round 4 closes on Wednesday 1 July at 8pm BST; Round 5 closes Thursday 6 July at 7pm BST; Round 6 closes Friday 10 July at 7pm BST; Round 7 closes Tuesday 14 July at 7pm BST; and Round 8 closes Saturday 18 July at 9pm BST.
