Sainz's 'Smooth Operator' lounge returns to Las Vegas Strip for November Grand Prix
Carlos Sainz's themed 'Smooth Operator' lounge will reopen at ARIA during the Las Vegas Grand Prix on 19-21 November, as MGM Resorts unveils a range of F1-themed activations across four Strip hotels for the fourth running of the race.
Carlos Sainz’s ‘Smooth Operator’ lounge is returning to the Las Vegas Strip for the 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix, scheduled for 19-21 November, as MGM Resorts announced a series of Formula 1-themed events across four of its properties.
The lounge, hosted at ARIA’s Proper Eats restaurant, will be transformed into a Sainz-branded space offering custom clothing and cocktails inspired by the Williams driver’s personal style. Sainz himself is expected to make an appearance during race week.
MGM Resorts’ president of entertainment, Ryan Abboushi, framed the activation as part of a broader hospitality push. “With the Las Vegas Grand Prix back for year four, we are focusing on what MGM Resorts does best — bringing together incredible sports, luxury hospitality and entertainment,” he said. “Through our partnerships with top global brands, our resorts along The Strip are set to provide race fans from all over the world with an experience they won’t find anywhere else.”
Beyond the Sainz lounge, MGM’s race-week programme spans the Bellagio, ARIA, The Cosmopolitan, and Park MGM. Highlights include a Haas F1 team show car and memorabilia display at The Cosmopolitan, a Ferrari boutique at the Bellagio, the Boulevard Party Deck at The Cosmopolitan, and the Shoey Bar at the Bellagio.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix opens the final triple-header of the 2025 F1 season. The race’s long-term future on the calendar was secured in June 2025 when Formula 1 announced a contract extension keeping the event on the schedule through to the end of 2037.
F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali welcomed the extension at the time. “Since its debut in 2023, the event has been extraordinary, rapidly establishing itself as a premier destination for great racing, world-class entertainment, global business leaders, A-list celebrities and influencers,” he said. “We always believed that Las Vegas would become a cornerstone of our presence in the United States, and this extension reinforces our long-term commitment to this important market.”
