Lando Norris has unveiled a 12-piece clothing collection under his LN4 brand ahead of the United States Grand Prix in Austin, converting a vintage fuel station at 1500 San Jacinto Boulevard into a pop-up retail space inspired by 1970s racing garages.

The range, titled Lando’s Original Service Department, spans workwear-style clothing, T-shirts and caps for both men and women. The pop-up opened on Wednesday and runs Thursday through Sunday, 9am to 7pm. Visitors can also have a custom postcard or patch made in partnership with McLaren sponsor Google Gemini. Norris’s gaming and lifestyle brand Quadrant also held a separate Austin pop-up earlier in the week.

The launch offers a rare bright spot in what has become a bruising title defence for the Briton. The reigning world champion sits sixth in the drivers’ standings with 201 points — 139 behind championship leader Kimi Antonelli — while McLaren, the reigning constructors’ champion, is third, seven points ahead of a resurgent Red Bull.

Norris has been candid about the difficulty of extracting performance from the current McLaren package. Speaking after the Singapore Grand Prix, he described the car as “mentally draining” to drive.

“It’s just on a knife edge on every single corner,” he said. “Just got to drive it within an exact percent and you have to force the car in every single way. You can’t let the car do any work. You can’t just let the front do the work or the rear do the work.”

He elaborated on why the demands of the car make consistent qualifying laps so elusive. “You have to force the front, you got to force the rear, you got to drive it in a way that takes so much concentration and so much ability. It’s just full on and mentally draining because of how hard you have to work behind the wheel — it makes it impossible to put laps together in qualifying, which just shows how good of a job we were able to do when we were getting on pole.”

“With it not being quick enough now it’s just too difficult and you can’t do anything magical because you’re simply not quick enough. You have to force the car and you can’t let the car do any work because it doesn’t do it on its own, and that’s not what you want from a car at all.”

The United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas represents another opportunity for Norris to claw back ground on Antonelli, though the gap in the standings underlines how steeply the task has grown since McLaren’s dominant run earlier in the season.
