Ferrari unveils blueprint-style HP livery for United States Grand Prix at COTA

Ferrari has unveiled a one-off special livery for this weekend’s United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, featuring blueprint-style engineering sketches developed in collaboration with title partner HP and the Ferrari Design Studio.
The design places hand-drawn illustrations and technical sketches against a white background on the engine cover and around the intake, a deliberate departure from the team’s traditional red. The graphics were reproduced using HP Latex printing technology, marking the first time the process has been applied in this specific context on a Formula 1 car.
“The livery celebrates the journey from idea to reality,” said Ferrari’s head of colour and trim Silvia Cavallaro. “Every Ferrari starts with creativity, sketches and engineering expertise long before the car reaches the track. Thanks to our collaboration with HP, we were able to bring that process to life visually and tell a story that reveals the craftsmanship and innovation behind the performance.”
Ferrari’s new car concept specialist Stefano Luparia described the project as technically demanding on multiple fronts. “There were numerous challenges in developing the special livery for Austin, spanning both the creative and technical aspects of the project,” he said. “On the one hand, we had to transform the concept developed together with Ferrari Design Studio into a solution that could be practically applied, adapting it to the car’s complex surfaces and aerodynamic requirements.”
Luparia added that his role centred on coordinating and validating every technical element to ensure performance objectives were not compromised and that the livery was correctly implemented on both cars ahead of the race weekend.
Reaction among fans has been broadly positive, if divided on how visible the intricate artwork will be at racing speeds. “Seriously, it’s a gorgeous design in my opinion,” one fan wrote on Reddit. “I know you won’t really be able to see it going at 200 mph, but for what it is, I kinda like it,” added another, while a third called it a “nice idea, cool concept.”
