Barcelona have successfully registered midfielder Rodri and forward Karim Adeyemi with La Liga in time for their season opener against Elche at Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero on Sunday, according to Barca Universal. The pair are now cleared to feature as the club begins the defence of its La Liga title.

Rodri arrives from Manchester City in a deal worth €76.5 million including add-ons, representing one of the most significant acquisitions of the summer window. Adeyemi joins from Borussia Dortmund for €22 million, adding pace and directness to Hansi Flick’s attacking options.

The registrations mark a notable shift in Barcelona’s operating conditions. The club spent several transfer windows relying on unconventional financial levers to register players under La Liga’s strict financial fair play controls. Having returned to the league’s 1:1 Fair Play rule this summer, Barcelona have been able to move more freely in the market.

However, not all new arrivals are yet cleared. Anthony Gordon and João Cancelo remain unregistered ahead of the weekend fixture. Barca Universal reports that the club expects to resolve both cases before the Elche match, though no formal confirmation has been issued.

Barcelona must also complete the registration of centre-back Andreas Christensen, who signed a new contract this summer after his previous deal expired on 30 June. His situation adds to the administrative workload the club must clear in the coming days.

With Rodri and Adeyemi now available, Barcelona head into their title defence with at least two of their headline summer signings ready to contribute from the outset.
