Ribovics misses weight as UFC 332 title challengers Silva and Wang make the mark

Esteban Ribovics was the sole fighter to miss weight at Friday’s official UFC 332 weigh-ins, registering 156.5 pounds — half a pound above the 156-pound non-title lightweight limit — ahead of his main card bout against King Green at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City on Saturday. Green hit the scale at 155.5 pounds without issue.

Shortly after Ribovics stepped off the scale, the UFC confirmed the Green vs. Ribovics contest will proceed as a catchweight fight, with Ribovics forfeiting 20 percent of his purse as a financial penalty.

The night’s headline act went off without a hitch. Natalia Silva and Wang Cong both made weight cleanly for their vacant UFC flyweight title bout, with Wang first to the scale at 124.5 pounds and Silva following at exactly 125. The 125-pound crown was vacated by long-reigning champion Valentina Shevchenko, who remains sidelined while recovering from injuries.

In the bantamweight co-main event, two-time flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo checked in at 135 pounds for his clash with top prospect Payton Talbott, who came in at 135.5.
