Natalia Silva's 14-fight unbeaten run earns her a women's flyweight title shot at UFC 332

Natalia Silva and Cong Wang are cleared to compete for the vacant UFC women’s flyweight title at UFC 332 on October 3, after both challengers hit their marks at Friday’s official weigh-ins. Silva checked in at exactly 125 pounds, while Wang came in at 124.5 pounds.

Silva (20-5-1) was originally slated to challenge Valentina Shevchenko before “Bullet” was forced out through injury. The Brazilian has not lost inside the Octagon and enters the fight on a remarkable 14-fight winning streak. Back-to-back victories over Rose Namajunas, Alexa Grasso, and Jessica Andrade made her case for a title shot impossible to ignore, and the Team Borracha product now gets her shot at the gold.

Standing in her way is Wang Cong (10-1), the 34-year-old Chinese contender nicknamed “The Joker.” Wang arrives on a four-fight winning run, having taken decisions over Tracy Cortez, Eduarda Moura, Ariane Lipski da Silva, and Bruna Brasil. Her only professional defeat came against Gabriella Fernandes, who submitted her with a rear-naked choke.

Elsewhere on the card, Esteban Ribovics was the sole fighter to miss weight, coming in at 156.5 pounds for his lightweight bout against King Green — half a pound over the 156-pound limit. Ribovics will forfeit a percentage of his purse as a result.
