Silva and Wang Cong face off at UFC 332 press conference to decide flyweight title
Natalia Silva and Wang Cong squared off at the UFC 332 pre-fight press conference Thursday, with the pair set to contest the vacant women's flyweight championship after Valentina Shevchenko's injury forced her out.
Natalia Silva and Wang Cong headlined the UFC 332 pre-fight press conference on Thursday, coming face to face before their bout to crown a new UFC women’s flyweight champion at 125 pounds.
The title is vacant after Valentina Shevchenko was ruled out through injury with no confirmed return date. Silva and Wang will now settle the matter between them, with the winner claiming the belt Shevchenko had held for years.
The co-main event drew significant attention as rising prospect Payton Talbott faces the stiffest test of his UFC career against former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo. The bout represents a major step up for Talbott and a chance for Figueiredo to reassert himself in the division.
Also on the main card, fan favourite Bobby ‘King’ Green returns to action against Esteban Ribovics in a matchup widely expected to deliver fireworks given both fighters’ aggressive styles.
UFC newcomer Roberto Soldic makes his promotional debut against Khaos Williams, while Ateba Gautier opens the main card against Roman Kopylov.
