Hearn fires back at Dana White with video montage after 'delusional' jab
Dana White called Eddie Hearn 'delusional' over their dispute about who is promoting the Fury vs. Joshua fight on Dec. 11. Hearn responded with a montage of clips showing White repeatedly contradicting himself about his role in the bout.
Eddie Hearn hit back at Dana White on Friday with a video montage of the UFC president’s own contradictory statements, one day after White branded the British promoter “incredibly delusional” during a media session following the UFC 332 press conference in Salt Lake City.
The feud centres on the Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight scheduled for Dec. 11 in Cardiff, Wales. White has repeatedly claimed he is both promoting and producing the event; Hearn has consistently denied White holds any official role. The montage Hearn posted on social media compiled clips of White insisting the bout would take place in the United States — a claim that proved incorrect — alongside footage of White struggling to define exactly what his involvement in the fight actually was.
“Gonna leave this one here,” Hearn wrote alongside the video. “Time to move on to the big stuff. 10 weeks today the biggest fight in British boxing history! Let’s gooooo.”
Hearn appeared to take particular satisfaction in one clip in which White asks, “You think that I would publicly lie and then look like a f*cking idiot in front of everybody?” — a soundbite that landed differently given the context of the montage.
White had been characteristically blunt in his Thursday remarks. “Was I lying? Was I wrong? Am I not the promoter? Am I not producing the entire fcking event? The answer is yes,” he told reporters. He went on to accuse Hearn of chasing a public-relations victory rather than dealing in facts. “Eddie likes to see himself on interviews. He likes to talk a lot and talking a lot will get you in a lot of fcking trouble.”
White’s position was not helped by events at Wednesday’s official press conference for the Fury-Joshua fight, where his name was absent from the formal introductions. Saudi promoter Turki Alalshikh did mention White’s name during the event, but the reference was immediately met with boos from those in attendance.
White urged patience, telling reporters to “judge me at the end of the year” and insisting the full picture would become clear over time. His allies Alalshikh and UFC president Nick Khan have maintained that White retains some involvement in the December bout, though neither has specified what that role entails. For now, Hearn’s video response appears to have landed the sharper blow in a public dispute that shows little sign of cooling before fight night.
