Olympique de Marseille has more than doubled its naming rights revenue by partnering with CEPAC, a regional subsidiary of Caisse d’Epargne, in a contract estimated at €5 million per year. The agreement, finalized after the expiration of the Orange partnership on June 30, renames the stadium on Boulevard Michelet as CEPAC Vélodrome.

The Orange contract, which had run for several years, brought in approximately €2.4 million annually to the Marseille club. The new deal with CEPAC therefore represents a net gain of around €2.6 million per season. OM president Stéphane Richard himself confirmed when announcing the partnership that the amount was “slightly higher” than the previous agreement.

The €5 million package is not limited solely to the right to place the bank’s name on the stadium: it also includes the renewal of a separate sponsorship agreement, which partly explains the gap with the Orange contract.

On the club’s side, emphasis is placed on the historical dimension of the alliance. “This naming agreement extends over 40 years of partnership between Caisse d’Epargne CEPAC and Olympique de Marseille. A historic alliance that is becoming even stronger, with the desire to make this emblematic venue shine far beyond match days,” OM stated when formalizing the deal.

CEPAC, whose activities are primarily anchored in southeastern France, is thus strengthening its visibility in a region where OM remains the most-followed sports institution. For the club, this additional revenue represents one of the few bright spots in an otherwise turbulent off-season.
