Norris mocks Stroll in viral post-Singapore video as McLaren's title lead narrows
A video showing Lando Norris apparently joking at Lance Stroll's expense during a night out after the Singapore Grand Prix has surpassed 3.3 million views on X, drawing sharp debate among F1 fans. Neither driver has publicly responded.
A video circulating on social media appears to show Lando Norris mocking Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll during a night out following the Singapore Grand Prix, drawing more than 3.3 million views on X and dividing opinion across the F1 fanbase.
The clip, posted by fan account MV3daily on the night of the race, shows Norris out with Haas driver Ollie Bearman as someone in the crowd holds up a sign reading “To the best driver.” Norris is heard shouting “Where’s Lance, where’s Lance?” — a remark widely interpreted as a dig at Stroll, who has yet to score a point this season and earlier this year became the first driver in history to reach 100 Q1 eliminations.
The account that shared the footage was critical of the McLaren driver. “Lance may not be the best driver on the grid but have some decency atleast,” MV3daily wrote. The post attracted around 19,000 likes and 564 replies, with one response — itself liked more than 5,000 times — joking: “bros PR manager is fighting for their life.” The debate grew heated enough that MV3daily later urged followers to dial back their reactions. “Can we all relax a little bit, everyone is a little bit too aggressive on here and it’s showing,” the account posted the following day.
Neither Norris nor Stroll has responded publicly to the clip.
The video emerged at the end of an already turbulent weekend for the reigning world champion. In Saturday’s sprint, Norris collided with McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri while the pair fought for fourth at Turn 5 on the final lap. Piastri retired on the spot; Norris recovered to eighth, leaving McLaren with a single point from the session at a moment when Red Bull is closing in on third in the constructors’ standings.
“It was a mistake on my part, and I let down the team. I’ve also apologised to all of them, I owe them all an apology, and I will do better next time,” Norris said on Sunday.
In the grand prix itself, Norris finished fourth, 40.5 seconds behind race winner Max Verstappen. He sits sixth in the drivers’ championship on 201 points, while McLaren heads to Austin holding a seven-point lead over Red Bull in the constructors’ standings ahead of the United States Grand Prix on 23–25 October.
