Kylian Mbappé resumed collective training with the France squad on Wednesday at Clairefontaine, after missing Tuesday’s session due to flu. The France captain had also not lunched with his teammates the day before, fueling uncertainty about his availability for the trip to Turkey.

Wednesday’s session dispelled those doubts. Based on the tactical setup observed, Mbappé should start Friday evening in Izmit. Zinédine Zidane reportedly opted for a 4-3-3 in which the former Paris player would occupy the left wing, Ousmane Dembélé would play centrally and Michael Olise would take the right flank.

The squad began its gathering on Monday with a small-group session — only ten outfield players — with players who featured in Sunday’s match, including Mbappé, being rested that evening. The Bondy native’s flu subsequently complicated preparations before his presence at Wednesday’s collective training reassured the coaching staff.

The Blues are to leave Clairefontaine on Thursday late morning heading to Turkey. A pre-match training session is scheduled for late afternoon at Izmit stadium.
