Luis Enrique rests Hakimi before international break, Boly set for right-back role against Troyes
PSG has officially announced that Achraf Hakimi will miss Saturday's trip to Troyes, the club's final match before the international break. The decision, made jointly by Luis Enrique and the sporting director, is a precautionary workload management measure with no injury involved.
Paris Saint-Germain announced that Achraf Hakimi will not travel to Troyes on Saturday evening for the club’s final match before the international break. The decision, made jointly by Luis Enrique and the sporting director, reflects a precautionary management of the Moroccan right-back’s workload.
“In agreement with the coach and the sporting director, Achraf Hakimi is benefiting from a rest period until the start of the international break,” the club stated in an official statement. The staff emphasised that no injury or physical problem is behind this decision.
This management approach echoes the one recently applied to Ousmane Dembélé, who was also preserved a few weeks earlier. Hakimi, who has been heavily used since the start of the season, will thus have a few days of recovery before returning to competition after the break.
To compensate for his absence on the right flank against Troyes, Luis Enrique will have to rely on other options. Young David Boly, who scored against Villarreal, appears to be the leading candidate to fill that position on Saturday evening.
