Hakimi rested by PSG ahead of Troyes fixture in Ligue 1
Luis Enrique has decided to rest Achraf Hakimi for the home match against Troyes this Saturday. The right-back, the second most-used outfield player this season with 1,067 minutes, will benefit from rest until the international break.
Paris Saint-Germain officially confirmed on Friday the rest of Achraf Hakimi for the home match against Troyes this Saturday in Ligue 1. The club specified that this decision was made “in agreement with the head coach and the sporting director”, and that the right-back will be excluded from the squad until the start of the international break.
Hakimi is coming off a particularly intense start to the season. With 1,067 minutes of play, he is the second most-used outfield player by Luis Enrique, behind midfielder Vitinha. Last weekend against Le Havre, the Morocco international delivered a remarkable performance, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
This rest comes in a context of delicate squad management at PSG. Several key players are currently unavailable through injury: Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Nuno Mendes are all sidelined, which forces Luis Enrique to juggle his resources.
On the sporting front, PSG is going through a period of great form. On Wednesday, the Parisians thrashed Villarreal 6-0 in the Ligue des Champions, securing their tenth consecutive victory across all competitions. The capital club tops Ligue 1 and is among the leaders in the Ligue des Champions league phase.
