Brighton have rejected Liverpool’s opening bid of £50 million for winger Yankuba Minteh, according to The Athletic, though the club’s stance suggests the offer is not far from a figure they would ultimately accept, making a transfer appear likely before the window closes.

Liverpool, who face Newcastle United at St James’ Park, are also pursuing Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola. PSG’s £140 million valuation has so far proved a significant obstacle to that move.

Arsenal, who opened their Premier League campaign with a victory over newly-promoted Coventry City, have already wrapped up a deal for Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa and continue to seek attacking reinforcements. Julian Alvarez is among the names linked with a move to the Emirates, though Barcelona is reported to be his preferred destination.

Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba but remain in the market for a left-back. The club have reportedly contacted Barcelona to explore the availability of Alejandro Balde as they look to address that position before the deadline.

Manchester City are in talks to sign Palmeiras winger Allan, while Savinho and Omar Marmoush have been linked with moves to Tottenham Hotspur, who have already made seven signings this summer and continue to negotiate further additions.

With the final week of the transfer window underway, Premier League clubs are moving quickly to finalise their squads ahead of the new season, which got under way on Friday.
