Kane snatches Bayern victory over promoted Elversberg late on
Bayern Munich struggled to overcome promoted Elversberg (2-1) in Matchday 3 of the Bundesliga. Harry Kane scored the decisive goal in the 72nd minute, leaving Munich four points behind the leading duo.
Harry Kane rescued Bayern Munich from another slip-up in the Bundesliga, scoring the winning goal in the 72nd minute away at promoted Elversberg (2-1) on Sunday in Matchday 3 of the championship.
A week after a goalless draw at Schalke 04, the Bavarians struggled once again against a bottom-table side. Karl had opened the scoring for Munich as early as the 26th minute, but Krattenmacher levelled the match in the 61st minute, forcing Bayern to battle until the final quarter of an hour to secure all three points.
With seven points from three matches, Bayern sit in fourth place, two points behind Freiburg and Dortmund, who have perfect records. Elversberg, meanwhile, can harbour regrets: the promoted side occupies sixth place with six points, a sign of a remarkable start to the season despite this defeat.
