Juventus probes Real Madrid over Camavinga loan deal valued at €70m
Regularly criticized by Real Madrid supporters and sidelined in the midfield hierarchy, Eduardo Camavinga is in Juventus's sights, with the Turin club favoring a loan given a valuation that could reach €70 million.
Juventus has made contact with Real Madrid to explore Eduardo Camavinga, according to reports surrounding the matter. The Turin club, hampered by a valuation that could reach €70 million, would prefer a loan to secure the 22-year-old French midfielder.
Camavinga came off the bench in Real Madrid’s victory away at Espanyol (1–2) but failed to silence the critics. His lack of consistency frustrates sections of the fanbase, and Real Madrid’s board would reportedly be open to offers since last spring, with a floor price of around €50 million mentioned at the time.
Arriving in 2021 from Rennes, the Frenchman has made 218 appearances and won eleven trophies with the Spanish club. His collective record remains impressive, but his difficulty in stringing together consistent performances and recurring injury problems have gradually pushed him down the pecking order. Competition is particularly fierce: Aurélien Tchouaméni, Federico Valverde and Jude Bellingham are vying for the same positions, further limiting Camavinga’s playing time.
For Juventus, a loan would represent a middle-ground solution: acquiring a top-level player without immediately committing tens of millions of euros, while offering Camavinga a context conducive to regaining confidence and consistency.
However, the player himself has not yet made a decision. Several sources indicate that the Frenchman would prefer to stay in Madrid and reclaim his place. At 22, his room for improvement remains intact, and Real Madrid has not forgotten the spells when his versatility and ability to change the tempo of a match made him invaluable. The matter therefore remains open, suspended between the player’s ambitions, Madrid’s financial demands and Turin’s budget constraints.
