Ferencvaros humiliates Milan 10 against 11 and plunges Rossoneri into elimination zone
Five days after their derby victory against Inter, Milan collapsed at San Siro against the Hungarian club (0-2), despite an opponent's expulsion. With three defeats in four Europa League matchdays, Milan is virtually eliminated at the halfway point.
Ferencvaros inflicted a 0-2 defeat on AC Milan at San Siro on Thursday in the Europa League, despite a numerical advantage gained from the 77th minute following Dele’s expulsion. The Hungarian club won thanks to a brace from Joseph in the second half (52nd, 66th), delivering one of the evening’s surprise results.
The contrast with the previous weekend is striking: five days after dominating Inter 3-1 in the Lombardy derby, the Rossoneri suffer their third defeat in four league phase matchdays. Already beaten by Benfica and Bournemouth, Milan slip into the lower part of the overall standings and find themselves virtually eliminated at the halfway point of the competition.
For Ferencvaros, meanwhile, the evening confirms strong European momentum. The Budapest club joins Bournemouth at the top of the Europa League with a perfect record of twelve points in four matches, establishing itself as one of the revelations of this league phase.
