The FA Cup second-round draw is scheduled for Monday 9 November, following the completion of first-round fixtures that feature 32 non-league clubs bidding to advance against League One and League Two opposition.

The draw is expected to begin shortly after 6:30pm GMT, ahead of the evening’s concluding first-round tie between non-league sides Plymouth Parkway and Berkhamsted. A total of 40 teams will enter the hat, producing 20 second-round fixtures to be played across the weekend of 5-6 December. Premier League and Championship clubs do not enter the competition until the third round.

Among the headline first-round ties this weekend, 2021 FA Cup winners Leicester City — now back in the Championship — host National League side Oxford City on Friday night, while Bristol Rovers face Cambridge United in the same evening’s action.

League One promotion-chasers Bradford City welcome Marine FC, and AFC Rushden & Diamonds — one of four clubs appearing at this stage of the competition for the very first time — travel to Burton Albion. Sholing, another of those historic debutants, face fellow non-league side Salisbury in what looks a winnable path to round two.

Former winners also feature prominently. Sheffield Wednesday, who lifted the trophy in 1896, 1907 and 1935, take on Oldham Athletic; 1922 champions Huddersfield Town face Exeter City; and 2013 winners Wigan Athletic travel to Boreham Wood.

The ball numbers for the second-round draw will be confirmed over the weekend, closer to the draw itself.
