Da Cunha starts for Como against Manchester United in Champions League
After being benched against Feyenoord, French international midfielder Lucas Da Cunha returns to Como's starting lineup to face Manchester United on Tuesday in the Champions League (18:45). Goalkeeper Jean Butez also starts.
Lucas Da Cunha returns to Como’s starting XI for the Champions League clash against Manchester United on Tuesday at 18:45. Dropped to the bench by Cesc Fabregas during the defeat at Feyenoord (3-2) last week, the left-footed midfielder, who came through Stade Rennais’ academy and captains the Lombardy club, reclaims his place in midfield against the Red Devils.
Zinédine Zidane fielded Da Cunha twice during the last international window, as both a number 6 and playmaker, in the victory in Belgium (0-1) and the draw against Italy (1-1) at Stade de France. Goalkeeper Jean Butez, also called up by « Zizou » last month alongside Mike Maignan and Guillaume Restes, also starts. Como’s attack is built around Nico Paz in support of Tasos Douvikas, with Martin Baturina on the left wing.
For Manchester United, Andrey Santos is paired with Mason Mount and Youri Tielemans in midfield, while Bruno Fernandes plays the playmaker role. Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo lead the attack, with Amad Diallo starting on the bench.
Leny Yoro, another French international recently called up by Zidane, is suspended following his red card against Atlético de Madrid (2-0 defeat). The Red Devils must also do without Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo, Marcus Rashford and Benjamin Sesko, all unavailable.
