Cristiano Ronaldo maintains his status as the world’s highest-paid footballer, with estimated annual revenues of approximately $300 million (€267M) per season, according to the latest annual ranking from Forbes magazine.

These revenues break down into two main parts: €222M paid by his club Al-Nassr and €44M generated through commercial contracts. At 41 years old, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner maintains a considerable lead over his eternal rival Lionel Messi, whose annual revenues amount to €129M — less than half those of the Portuguese star. The Argentine from Inter Miami receives €62M from his club and €66M through sponsorship agreements.

Together, Ronaldo and Messi represent nearly half of the total combined salaries of the ten highest-paid footballers in the ranking. Kylian Mbappé completes the podium with €90M per season, ahead of Erling Haaland (Manchester City, €76M) and Vinicius Junior in fifth position.

Lamine Yamal (FC Barcelona) ranks sixth, closely followed by Sadio Mané (Al-Nassr). Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid) closes the top group with €53M in annual earnings.

This ranking comes a few weeks after a difficult period for Ronaldo on the sporting front: unhappy with his usage by Portugal national team coach Jorge Jesus, the striker left the gathering to return to Saudi Arabia.
