Barely Used at Barcelona, Dani Olmo Resists Bayern Munich's Advances
Limited to 461 minutes across ten matches despite Barcelona's excellent form, Dani Olmo is attracting interest from Bayern Munich. The Spanish international has reportedly signaled his desire to establish himself in Catalonia.
Dani Olmo has no intention of leaving FC Barcelona despite limited playing time and an approach from Bayern Munich, according to Spanish sports daily Sport.
The attacking midfielder featured in Barcelona’s first ten matches of the season but accumulated only 461 minutes on the pitch. The reason: fierce competition in an attacking department running at full throttle. With 43 goals scored in ten games, Barcelona boasts a perfect record, driven largely by Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, who account for more than half the team’s goals. Karim Adeyemi and Anthony Gordon also share the left wing, further reducing the space available for the Spanish World Cup winner.
Faced with this situation, Bayern Munich reportedly expressed interest in recruiting Olmo. But according to Sport, the La Masia academy product is not considering leaving the club. He wants to establish himself there despite the squad’s depth.
To clarify the Spanish international’s prospects, a meeting took place between Deco, Barcelona’s sporting director, and Juanma López, Olmo’s agent. The goal: define the expectations of both parties and chart a roadmap for the rest of the season.
