Cyclist Paul Seixas, Tour of Lombardy winner, to kick off OL-Nice match
A week after winning his first Monument at age 20, cyclist Paul Seixas will be in Lyon on Sunday evening to kick off the Ligue 1 match between Olympique Lyonnais and OGC Nice.
Paul Seixas, 20, winner of the Tour of Lombardy last weekend, will make a notable appearance at Groupama Stadium on Sunday evening: the French cycling prodigy will kick off the Ligue 1 match between Olympique Lyonnais and OGC Nice, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00.
A native of Lyon and declared OL supporter, Seixas will be present via link from the Rhône stadium before the opening whistle. The Decathlon CMA CGM team rider will notably speak about his attachment to the Lyon club and his football tastes.
The visit comes at a favorable time for OL. Paulo Fonseca’s side are coming off a Ligue Europa victory over Crystal Palace (3-2) on Thursday evening and sit in 4th place in Ligue 1 ahead of this 7th matchday. Nice, for their part, occupy 9th place.
Seixas has established himself as one of the revelations of world cycling in 2026: 4th in the Tour de France before securing his first Monument at the Tour of Lombardy, he is accumulating high-level performances at an age when most of his peers are still finding their feet on the professional circuit.
