Atlético Madrid close in on Mallorca teenager Domenech with loan-plus-option deal
Atlético Madrid have reached a verbal agreement to sign 19-year-old Marc Domenech from Mallorca on loan, with an option to buy included. A medical examination in Madrid is the final step before the deal is made official.
Atlético Madrid have agreed a loan deal for 19-year-old Marc Domenech from Mallorca, with an option to buy at the end of the season, according to Fichajes, citing Fabrizio Romano. The club-to-club agreement is in place, but a medical examination in Madrid and final administrative formalities remain before the transfer is confirmed.
Domenech, a teenager with limited senior experience, scored one goal in eight appearances for Ceuta last season. The loan structure gives Atlético the chance to assess him over a full campaign before deciding whether to trigger the permanent option.
The news arrives as Atlético open their La Liga season in positive form, having beaten Málaga in their opening fixture. The club also resisted pressure from Barcelona to sell Julián Álvarez, underlining a broader determination to strengthen rather than reduce their squad depth.
Once the remaining formalities are cleared and Domenech completes his medical in Madrid, the move is expected to be made official.
