PSG tabled an initial €35 million offer to sign Maghnes Akliouche, AS Monaco’s right winger, but the proposal was coldly received at the Rock. Internally, the Monégasque club estimates the gap with the player’s real value at €15 or €20 million.

According to Le Parisien, QSI submitted this offer to buy out the final two years of the 24-year-old French international’s contract, who is said to have already reached personal terms with Paris. But Monaco is having none of it.

AS Monaco’s general manager, Thiago Scuro, set the club’s position unambiguously on the sidelines of new head coach Filipe Luis’s presentation: “Monaco is ready to keep Akliouche if there is no good deal.” He also broadened the remarks to other coveted profiles — Folarin Balogun and Youssouf Camara — clarifying that “Folarin or Maghnes don’t have just one option” and that conversation with them remains open, while warning he is ready to “enter into conflict” to protect the club’s interests.

Monaco is operating under constraint, however. The National Financial Control Authority (DNCG) has imposed on the club a reduction in its wage bill and a positive transfer balance this summer. Scuro acknowledges this reality but refuses to sell off his assets: “Monaco must reduce its overall wage bill while finding solutions to have a positive balance on transfers. Which player will leave? That depends on what happens over the summer.”

The executive recalled that Akliouche had already been tipped to leave last summer before ultimately staying, with the benefit of hindsight: “He stayed. It was positive for him. He is now playing in the World Cup.” An argument that illustrates Monaco’s firmness: the pressure of the calendar will not be enough to bring down the price.
