Lille signs Basar Önal for €9.5m, Strasbourg lands Del Blanco
Lille officially announced the arrival of Turkish winger Basar Önal from NEC Nimègue for €9.5 million, while Strasbourg secured Argentine left-back Mateo Del Blanco for €2.4 million.
Lille and Strasbourg each officially confirmed a signing on Wednesday, strengthening their squads ahead of the Ligue 1 season.
LOSC welcomes Basar Önal, a 22-year-old Turkish winger from NEC Nimègue. The U-21 international signed a four-year deal for €9.5 million, plus €2.5 million in add-ons. Önal finished the previous season with seven goals and eight assists in 29 Eredivisie matches, statistics that convinced the Dogues to invest in him. He is the club’s second attacking reinforcement in two days, following the arrival of Swiss left-back Loun Srdanovic.
At Strasbourg, a defensive profile was prioritized. Racing recruited Mateo Del Blanco, a 22-year-old Argentine left-back, by triggering his €2.4 million release clause with Union Santa Fe. The player signed a five-year contract with the Alsatian club.
Both Ligue 1 clubs are betting on young profiles with strong potential, drawn respectively from Dutch football and Argentine football.
