Adidas returns to OM kit from 2027, for €35M per year
Olympique de Marseille will reunite with Adidas as kit supplier from the 2027-2028 season, ending nine years with Puma. The new contract should bring between 32 and 35 million euros annually to the club, nearly double the current deal.
Adidas will reunite with Olympique de Marseille from the 2027-2028 season, ending nine years of partnership with Puma. According to L’Équipe, the two kit suppliers finalized an agreement in recent days to allow the three-stripe brand to take over a year before the scheduled end of the Puma contract, originally set for 2028.
The new deal represents a significant financial boost for the Marseille club: Adidas should pay between 32 and 35 million euros per year to OM, compared to around 20 million currently received from Puma. A welcome breath of fresh air given the club’s financial situation.
Adidas is no stranger to Marseille. The German brand accompanied the Phocéens from 1974 to 2018 — with a brief Reebok-Mizuno interlude between 1994 and 1996 — before giving way to Puma. This return marks the resumption of a relationship spanning several decades.
To formalize this new chapter, L’Équipe indicates that Adidas will gather part of its teams in Marseille early next week. The logistical challenge remains considerable, however: designing a kit typically requires between 18 and 24 months, a timeline that will need to be compressed so the new shirts are ready before the start of the 2027-2028 season.
On the pitch, OM is going through a calmer period after a difficult start to the season. The club has strung together three consecutive Ligue 1 victories — at Troyes (2-0), at Angers (5-2) and against Le Havre (4-3) — and currently sits eighth in the championship, though results in Ligue Europa remain awaited.
