Morgan Burtwistle, the YouTube creator and I’m A Celebrity winner known as Angryginge, has been subjected to a wave of online abuse after confronting a man he accused of making racist remarks during England’s 0-0 draw with Ghana at Boston Stadium on Tuesday.

Burtwistle, 24, attempted to have the man removed from the stadium, reporting the incident to stewards along with five witnesses. Despite the evidence, the man was not ejected and was seen by Burtwistle as he left the ground at full time.

In a YouTube video posted on Thursday, Burtwistle described what he witnessed. “The man sat in front was making incredibly racist comments towards the Ghanaian national team,” he said. “Due to this, it was only right for me to stand up and deal with this.”

He was critical of how stewards handled the situation, saying he was initially told they “can’t kick him out”. He later learned the man would only be removed if he made a further racist comment — a policy Burtwistle called “ridiculous”.

“Absolutely not good enough,” Burtwistle said. “The message before the games at football is kick it out, if you see it, say it. I’ve gone and reported it, the guy’s not been kicked out of the stadium. We saw him as we left — he’s been able to watch the whole game after some of the things he was saying about the Ghana team.”

He added: “I think it’s an absolute f** disgrace he’s been allowed to stay in and watch the game after having evidence on the vlog. I’ve been over and reported it, and five witnesses — literally all of us have heard him say it — and he’s still been able to watch the game.”

After sharing the story on Instagram, Burtwistle posted screenshots of threatening and abusive messages he received in response, captioning them: “Standing up to racism gets you this? What a world we live in.”

FIFA has been contacted for comment regarding the incident.
