Vozinha could sign the best contract of his career at 40. The Cape Verde goalkeeper, revelation of the 2026 World Cup, is being courted by Inter Miami according to Spanish newspaper Marca. David Beckham, co-owner of the Florida club, is reportedly ready to offer him a one-year deal.

A month ago, Vozinha was unknown to the general public. His World Cup performances changed everything. From Cape Verde’s opening match, the goalkeeper delivered a masterclass against Spain, earning him global recognition — he now claims more than 28 million Instagram followers.

Cape Verde was ultimately eliminated in the round of 16 by Argentina, but Vozinha impressed once again. Despite conceding three goals, he kept the Albiceleste at bay for long stretches: a save against Lionel Messi and two decisive interventions on direct free kicks prolonged the suspense before his team’s elimination.

Free since his contract ended with Chaves, a Portuguese second-division club, the goalkeeper has no shortage of suitors. Inter Miami is not alone in the race: several MLS clubs are also monitoring his situation. In Brazil, Atlético Goianiense, Ceará and Avaí — all second-division sides — have made inquiries. Mexican club Cruz Azul, Deportivo Riestra in Argentina and Olimpia in Paraguay are also reportedly interested.

Vozinha should therefore have plenty of options for the next chapter of his career, having never played beyond European second divisions before this World Cup.
