World Cup 2026: Every stadium hosting matches across the USA, Canada and Mexico
The expanded 48-team World Cup spans 16 venues across three countries, with MetLife Stadium in New Jersey hosting the final on 19 July and Mexico City's Estadio Azteca opening the tournament.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be staged across 16 venues in the United States, Canada and Mexico, with the expanded 48-team format producing 104 matches across the three host nations this summer.
MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, will host the final on 19 July, while Mexico City’s historic Estadio Azteca opens the tournament with Mexico facing South Africa — a rematch of their 2010 World Cup group-stage encounter, this time on home soil.
United States
Atlanta — Mercedes-Benz Stadium (capacity: 75,000) hosts five group games, one last-32 tie, one last-16 match and a semi-final. European champions Spain play their opening two matches here, and England would face a last-32 game at this venue if they top Group L.
Boston — Gillette Stadium (capacity: 65,000) carries a strong British flavour in the group phase. Scotland play their first two matches at the Foxborough ground, and England’s second group game against Ghana is also scheduled there. The venue hosts five group games, one last-32 tie and a quarter-final.
Dallas — AT&T Stadium (capacity: 94,000) is where England open their campaign against Croatia on 17 June. The Dallas Cowboys’ home features a retractable roof — a significant advantage in the Texas summer heat — and stages five group games, two last-32 ties, a last-16 match and a semi-final.
Houston — NRG Stadium (capacity: 72,000) welcomes World Cup debutants Curacao and Uzbekistan among its five group games, one last-32 tie and one last-16 match.
Kansas City — Arrowhead Stadium (capacity: 73,000) hosts holders Argentina’s title defence opener against Algeria on 16 June. The Kansas City Chiefs’ stadium stages four group games, one last-32 tie and a quarter-final.
Los Angeles — SoFi Stadium (capacity: 70,000) is the newest venue at the tournament, having opened in September 2020. The United States begin their campaign here against Paraguay on 12 June. The stadium hosts five group games, two last-32 ties and a quarter-final.
Miami — Hard Rock Stadium (capacity: 65,000) stages two of the most anticipated group-stage fixtures: Scotland v Brazil on 24 June and Portugal v Colombia on 27 June. The Miami Dolphins’ home hosts four group games, one last-32 tie and a quarter-final.
New York/New Jersey — MetLife Stadium (capacity: 82,500) is the tournament’s showpiece venue. Before the final on 19 July, it hosts Brazil’s group opener against Morocco on 13 June and England’s final group game against Panama on 27 June, along with five group games in total, one last-32 tie and one last-16 match.
