Wembley sprinklers drench Ian Wright and Roy Keane mid-broadcast during England Nations League tie
Ian Wright and Roy Keane were caught off guard when Wembley's pitch sprinklers unexpectedly activated during their live ITV coverage of England's Nations League match against Czech Republic on 6 October, sending both pundits scrambling for cover.
The sprinklers activated without warning as the England squad prepared for kick-off, catching both pundits completely off guard.
Wright was in the middle of delivering his pre-match analysis when the unexpected shower hit the pitchside studio area. The footage showed both he and Keane abandoning their positions and running for cover as the water continued to spray across the broadcast set.
Presenter Mark Pougatch found a silver lining in the chaos, joking that Wright had come prepared — the pundit happened to be wearing a hat for the broadcast, offering at least some protection from the impromptu downpour.
