Victor Munoz Joins Liverpool for €40M, Real Madrid Pockets €25M
Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement with Spanish striker Victor Munoz, 21, from Osasuna for €40 million. Real Madrid, who hold 50% of the player's economic rights, will receive €25 million from the deal.
Liverpool are set to sign Victor Munoz by activating the Spanish striker’s release clause at Osasuna for €40 million, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Reds have beaten Newcastle to the deal and reached a verbal agreement with the 21-year-old.
The transaction directly benefits Real Madrid. The Spanish club holds 50% of Munoz’s economic rights over the next three years, allowing them to pocket €25 million from the transfer — a considerable profit on a player they sold to Osasuna last summer for just €5 million.
Formed at Real Madrid, Munoz made his professional debut under Carlo Ancelotti during the 2024-2025 season before being loaned out and then transferred to La Liga. FC Barcelona, who were also monitoring the player, come away empty-handed.
At Liverpool, the Spaniard will play under Andoni Iraola, his compatriot appointed to the Reds’ bench on June 4 in place of Arne Slot. For Munoz, this transfer represents a fourth club in his career and a first experience in the Premier League.
