Marco Verratti, his wife Jessica Aidi and Pescara president Daniele Sebastiani have been fined between €9,000 and €20,000 by Italy’s National Federal Court following a breach of disclosure obligations related to the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder’s entry into the capital of the Abruzzo club.

The matter stems from June 2025, when Verratti officially became a shareholder in Pescara. Italian regulations require any investor holding at least 10% of a professional club’s capital to provide documents certifying their compliance and financial soundness within two weeks of the transaction’s completion. In this case, these documents should have been submitted by June 17, 2025.

Despite a reminder from the federal authorities, the documents were not submitted within the prescribed timeframe, triggering disciplinary proceedings. The parties involved were initially facing bans of three to five months, but the court ultimately opted for financial penalties, according to Calcio e Finanza.

This matter remains strictly administrative in nature and does not call into question Verratti’s participation in the club’s governance. It nonetheless illustrates the strengthened transparency requirements that the Italian federation imposes on new investors in professional football, a regulatory framework whose non-compliance now exposes shareholders — and not just club officials — to direct sanctions.
