Undefeated Andrusca steps up on five days' notice for UFC Paris debut against Wood

Pavel Andrusca will make his UFC debut against Nathaniel Wood at the Accor Arena in Paris on 5 September, stepping in on just five days’ notice after Mairon Santos withdrew from the featherweight bout for undisclosed reasons.

Andrusca, a 8-0 Moldovan finisher, was reported as the replacement by journalist Marcel Dorff. The short-notice call-up hands him an immediate test against one of the featherweight division’s more experienced operators.

Wood (23-6) arrives on a four-fight winning streak, having defeated Morgan Charriere, Jose Delgado and Losene Keita in recent outings. The Englishman is chasing his eighth victory since moving up to featherweight, and will be looking to make the debut a difficult one for his late-arriving opponent.
