Francis Marshall misses weight by two pounds ahead of UFC Vegas 123
Featherweight Francis Marshall came in at 148 pounds at Friday's official weigh-ins for UFC Vegas 123, missing the non-title limit by two pounds. He is the only fighter on the card to miss weight, and it remains unclear whether his bout with Dakota Hope will proceed as a catchweight contest.
Francis Marshall is the sole fighter to miss weight ahead of UFC Vegas 123 on Saturday, tipping the scales at 148 pounds during Friday’s official weigh-ins — two pounds over the featherweight non-title limit of 146.
Whether Marshall’s preliminary card bout against Dakota Hope will proceed as a catchweight contest is yet to be confirmed, as is the percentage of his purse that will be forfeited as a financial penalty. Hope stepped in on less than a month’s notice as a replacement for Gaston Bolanos, who withdrew from the card due to an eye injury.
The remaining 23 fighters on the card all made weight without issue. Lightweight headliners Renato Moicano and Tom Nolan were among the first to step on the scale, with Moicano registering at 156 pounds and Nolan at 155.5. Moicano enters the main event off the back of a win over Chris Duncan in April, while Nolan is chasing a sixth consecutive victory — a run that would draw him level with Arman Tsarukyan and Quillan Salkilld for the longest active win streak at lightweight in the UFC.
