Unbeaten UFC debutant Bilal Hasan unbothered by perfect record: 'I lose every day in the gym'

Just days after his UFC debut, 10-0 prospect Bilal Hasan says an unblemished record holds no psychological weight — because daily losses in the gym have already taught him how to embrace defeat and keep growing.

Bilal Hasan has gone 10-0 as a professional, earned a UFC contract with a 45-second knockout on Dana White’s Contender Series, and made his Octagon debut within three weeks — yet the undefeated prospect says protecting that perfect record is the last thing on his mind.

“Not at all, man. I lose every day in the gym, and it’s cool,” Hasan told Bedtime MMA. “I love that, man; that’s how it should be. The No. 1 thing I love about martial arts is the learning, man. The constant being a student, being a sponge, it’s so cool. There’s so much for me to develop, and that’s what excites me truly.”

The attitude sets Hasan apart from many undefeated prospects who treat their record as a fragile asset. Where others have crumbled after a first professional defeat, Hasan argues that regular sparring losses have already normalised the experience of being beaten — making the prospect of an eventual setback far less daunting.

The numbers back up his finishing instincts: nine of his ten career victories have come by stoppage, a ratio that underlines the kind of explosive, decisive fighting style that first caught the UFC’s attention on the Contender Series.

Beyond his performances inside the cage, Hasan has also attracted attention for his personality outside it. Slick dance moves and a natural ease on the microphone have accelerated his rise on social media in the days since his debut, suggesting the 10-0 record may only be one part of a broader appeal the promotion is keen to develop.
