Unbeaten French champion Gassama set for PFL debut against Bradford in Lyon
Hexagone MMA light heavyweight champion Bafode Gassama (4-0) will make his Professional Fighters League debut against Coby Bradford at PFL Lyon on Dec. 19, with the 205-pound clash taking place at LDLC Arena near Lyon, France.
Unbeaten French light heavyweight champion Bafode Gassama will step into the PFL for the first time when he faces Coby Bradford at PFL Lyon on Dec. 19 at LDLC Arena near Lyon, France. The promotion announced the 205-pound matchup on social media Saturday.
Gassama (4-0) claimed the Hexagone MMA light heavyweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Lajos Papp in April. The 32-year-old has finished three of his four professional opponents, making him one of the more compelling unbeaten prospects entering the PFL’s European market.
Bradford (6-4) arrives having already tasted success in the promotion, submitting Chad Yard with a rear-naked choke in his PFL debut when the league visited Washington, D.C., on July 25. He will look to hand Gassama his first professional defeat on the Frenchman’s home soil.
The Lyon card is headlined by Taylor Lapilus vs. Mitchell McKee for the inaugural PFL bantamweight championship, giving the event added weight as the promotion continues to expand its footprint in Europe.
