Paris Saint-Germain have been fined a total of €90,875 (£78,380) by UEFA and handed a suspended one-match away-fan ban after their supporters lit fireworks and threw objects during last month’s Champions League final against Arsenal in Budapest.

UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) launched an investigation in the aftermath of the final, which PSG won 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes. The governing body ultimately issued two separate sanctions against the Ligue 1 club.

The largest portion of the fine — €80,000 (£69,000) — relates to the “lighting of fireworks” by PSG supporters. An additional €10,875 (£9,380) was levied for the “throwing of objects”, bringing the combined total to €90,875.

Alongside the financial penalties, UEFA imposed a one-match ban preventing PSG from selling tickets to their away supporters. However, that ban has been suspended for a probationary period of two years from the date of the decision, meaning it will not come into force during the 2026/27 campaign.

The CEDB’s official statement confirmed the rulings in full: “To fine Paris Saint-Germain €80,000 and to ban Paris Saint-Germain from selling tickets to its away supporters for the next (1) UEFA competition match, for lighting of fireworks. Said ban from selling tickets to its away supporters is suspended for a probationary period of two (2) years, starting from the date of the present decision. To fine Paris Saint-Germain €10,875 for throwing of objects.”

Arsenal, who were beaten in the final despite a competitive showing in Budapest, will return to the Champions League next season. Mikel Arteta’s side secured the Premier League title during the same campaign, and are seeded in pot one for the upcoming league-phase draw in August — alongside Liverpool, Manchester City, PSG, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and Atletico Madrid. Whether the two clubs will meet again in the group stage remains to be determined.
