Tuchel to reveal first post-World Cup England squad on September 18 for Nations League campaign
Thomas Tuchel will announce his England squad on Friday, September 18 at 10am, ahead of four UEFA Nations League fixtures in League A Group 3, beginning with a home clash against Spain at Wembley on September 26.
Thomas Tuchel will name his England squad on Friday, September 18 at 10am, with a press conference to follow shortly after. It will be his first selection since England finished third at the World Cup, and the choices he makes will signal how he intends to build towards Euro 2028 on home soil.
England open their UEFA Nations League League A Group 3 campaign at Wembley on Saturday, September 26, hosting world and European champions Spain. Kick-off is at 7.45pm.
Three days later, on Tuesday, September 29, the Three Lions travel to Prague to face Czechia at the Fortuna Arena, again with a 7.45pm kick-off. That fixture takes on added significance if England have dropped points against Spain.
The extended international window then continues with a trip to Croatia on Saturday, October 3, kicking off at 5pm BST (6pm local time). The match will be played behind closed doors at Stadium HNK Rijeka due to UEFA sanctions previously imposed on the Croatian Football Federation.
England round off the four-game run by hosting Czechia again at Wembley on Tuesday, October 6, with a 7.45pm kick-off. Positive results across both home-and-away meetings with Czechia will be central to any ambition of topping the group.
All eyes will be on Tuchel’s selection to see whether he retains the experienced core that reached the World Cup semi-finals or begins to introduce new faces as part of a longer-term rebuild ahead of the 2028 European Championship.
