Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on a double signing from Manchester City, with talks over winger Savinho and striker Omar Marmoush progressing ahead of the transfer deadline, The Athletic reports.

The moves would represent the latest additions to a remarkable summer of spending at Spurs, who have already brought in Sandro Tonali for £100m from Newcastle United, Mateus Fernandes for £85m from West Ham United, and Jan Paul van Hecke for £52m from Brighton. Free agents Marco Senesi, Andy Robertson, and Martin Dubravka have also arrived, pushing the club’s outlay well beyond £200m.

Savinho has emerged as surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium, having been left out of Enzo Maresca’s matchday squad for last weekend’s 3-0 Community Shield defeat to Arsenal. Spurs had previously attempted to sign the Brazilian winger 12 months ago, when a fee of approximately £43m was discussed, only for City to ultimately extend his contract through to 2031.

Marmoush, meanwhile, has seen his future in Manchester become the subject of growing speculation after spending large portions of last season as understudy to Erling Haaland. The Egyptian striker is understood to be open to a move that would offer him more consistent first-team football.

The pursuit of both players aligns with Roberto De Zerbi’s stated ambition to add further firepower to his squad. The Italian head coach hinted last month that another transfer “bomba” was imminent, signalling that the club’s front line remained an area he wanted to strengthen despite the significant defensive and midfield overhaul already completed.

The double swoop, if finalised, would mark a dramatic transformation of the Tottenham squad ahead of a season in which the club is desperate to improve on last campaign’s 17th-place Premier League finish.
