Nuno Mendes suspended three matches and ruled out of clashes with Rennes, Lille and Monaco
The LFP disciplinary commission has sanctioned PSG's left-back with a three-match ban following his elbow on Skoras during the Trophy of Champions lost to Lens (1-0).
Nuno Mendes will miss the first three Ligue 1 matchdays after being suspended for three matches by the LFP disciplinary commission on Wednesday. The 24-year-old Portuguese international defender was sent off Sunday evening at Bollaert for an elbow on Polish player Michal Skoras during the Trophy of Champions, won by RC Lens (1-0).
The fixture list is particularly harsh for PSG: the left-back will be absent for the trip to Rennes this Sunday, closing the first matchday of the season — the match originally scheduled at Parc des Princes was relocated due to an unplayable pitch. He will also miss the home matches against Lille and Monaco in the second and third matchdays, three fixtures that promise to be decisive in the title race.
The same match also proved costly for Lens player Kyllian Antonio, sent off for a heavy tackle on Maghnes Akliouche. The northern midfielder received a two-match ban.
