Tottenham Hotspur have agreed an £85m fee with Manchester City to sign Brazilian winger Savinho, a deal that will set a new club-record sale for City and push Spurs’ summer spending beyond £300m.

The fee is structured as £75m plus £10m in add-ons, of which £5m is guaranteed, meaning City will receive a minimum of £80m. Savinho arrived at the Etihad from City Football Group sister club Troyes for £30.8m in 2024 — having spent a loan spell at fellow CFG club Girona, where he helped the Spanish side qualify for the Champions League — making this a substantial profit on a relatively short-term investment.

The 20-year-old scored seven goals in 84 appearances for City but managed only two Premier League goals and lost his starting berth to January signing Antoine Semenyo. City are now understood to be interested in Palmeiras winger Allan as a replacement, and Savinho’s departure takes their total transfer income this summer to around £235m, following the exits of Rodri, Tijjani Reijnders, Nathan Ake and James Trafford.

For Spurs, Savinho becomes one of the three most expensive signings in the club’s history — all made by head coach Roberto De Zerbi this summer. Mateus Fernandes joined from West Ham for £85m and Sandro Tonali arrived from Newcastle for £100m, with the trio representing a dramatic overhaul of a squad that narrowly avoided relegation last season.

De Zerbi has also added defender Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton for £52m and brought in free transfers Martin Dubravka, Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi. Talks over a move for Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush — who cost City £59m in January 2025 — are ongoing, and a successful deal would push Tottenham’s total outlay towards £400m for the window.
