Téléfoot L'After divides viewers in its debut on L'Équipe channel

Téléfoot L’After made its debut on Sunday on L’Équipe channel, and to say the least, this first episode did not win unanimous approval. Social media quickly erupted, with sharply divided opinions.

On the criticism side, several viewers pointed out format flaws. “What’s the point of Téléfoot today? Too many hosts for so little footage,” wrote one. Another added: “It’s inaudible! They’re all talking over each other, phones on set… The same topics and videos as in Téléfoot just before. No point.” Journalist Virginie Sainsily, increasingly present on air since the new season, was also targeted by comments, sometimes inappropriate, from part of the audience.

Yet the show also found its defenders. “Very good show, simple but effective,” notes one user. Another said they were “very pleasantly surprised” and even confessed to preferring this sequel to the original show: “At least it talks football.” A third, who described himself as greatly disappointed by another channel show, praised “a good start with this mix of commentators”.

Opinions thus remain divided after this first episode. L’Équipe channel, discreet about its ratings since the new season, should say more in the coming weeks. It is over time, and in light of the figures, that Téléfoot L’After will truly need to convince.
