Sunderland face Hull City at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday, 8 September in the third round of the Carabao Cup, with kick-off scheduled for 7.45pm BST.
Both sides head into the tie carrying injury concerns. Sunderland will be without midfielder Habib Diarra, who has been ruled out with a hamstring injury. Hull manager Sergej Jakirovic confirmed that new signing Ilyas Ansah is also unavailable, the striker hampered by a spinal issue.
There is better news for Hull, however, with Tim Iroegbunam expected to return to the squad after missing the goalless draw against Aston Villa.
The match represents a third-round meeting between two sides competing in the same division, with Sunderland taking on the role of hosts at their Wearside ground.
