The finish came suddenly, sending the highly touted Nurmagomedov crashing to the canvas and bringing the fight to an immediate halt. Before officials could clear the corner to enter, Usman Nurmagomedov — Umar’s brother and the PFL lightweight champion — sprinted toward the octagon, unable to wait for the standard commission clearance.

Corner camera footage captured Khabib Nurmagomedov, the family’s most famous member and Usman’s cousin, physically attempting to hold Usman back. Khabib grabbed at him and even reached for his foot in a bid to prevent him from jumping in, but could not subdue him in the heat of the moment.

As Song circled the cage in celebration, he briefly ran into Usman near the fence.
