Shakira, Katy Perry and Michael Bublé to headline World Cup 2026 opening ceremonies
FIFA's first three-host World Cup will open with separate ceremonies in Mexico City, Toronto and Los Angeles on 11-13 June. Shakira and Burna Boy headline in Mexico, Michael Bublé leads Canada's show, and Katy Perry tops the bill in the United States.
The 2026 World Cup will open across three countries on three consecutive days, with Shakira, Michael Bublé and Katy Perry among the headline acts confirmed for the separate ceremonies in Mexico, Canada and the United States. All three productions are being orchestrated by Italian producer Marco Balich, who also staged this year’s Milan Cortina Winter Olympics opening ceremony.
Mexico — 11 June, Estadio Azteca, Mexico City
Mexico kicks off the tournament at the Estadio Azteca on 11 June, ahead of their Group A opener against South Africa — a repeat of the fixture that launched the 2010 World Cup in Johannesburg. Shakira and Burna Boy are set to headline, performing the official tournament song Dai Dai. They will be joined by Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules, Maná and Tyla.
Canada — 12 June, BMO Field, Toronto
Canada’s ceremony at BMO Field in Toronto on 12 June precedes the host nation’s match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Canadian icon Michael Bublé leads the line-up, alongside Alessia Cara, Alanis Morissette, Palestinian singer Elyanna, French artist Vegedream — best known for Ramenez la coupe à la maison, his anthem celebrating France’s 2018 World Cup triumph — as well as Jessie Reyez, Nora Fatehi, Sanjoy and William Prince.
United States — 13 June, SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles
The third and final ceremony takes place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on 13 June, before the United States face Paraguay. Katy Perry headlines in her home state, joined by rapper Future. Tyla makes a second appearance having also performed in Mexico City, while the bill also features Thai-born K-pop star Lisa of Blackpink, Nigerian artist Rema and further acts yet to be fully detailed in confirmed announcements.
The 2026 edition marks the first World Cup to be co-hosted by three nations, with the expanded 48-team format spread across venues in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
