According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid has reached a principle agreement with Chelsea for the transfer of Marc Cucurella. The 27-year-old Spanish left-back, who came through Barcelona's La Masia academy, joins Dumfries, Konaté and Bernardo Silva as confirmed signings for the off-season.
Real Madrid has concluded a principle agreement with Chelsea for the transfer of Marc Cucurella, the fourth unofficial signing for the Madrid club this off-season. The deal is worth between €50 and €60 million, including bonuses, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
At 27 years old, the Spanish international who came through FC Barcelona’s La Masia academy was being tracked by several major Iberian clubs, including Barcelona itself and Atlético de Madrid. Real Madrid ultimately won out in this pursuit, and the versatile left-back was among the priorities of new head coach José Mourinho.
Cucurella fits into an ambitious recruitment policy orchestrated by Florentino Perez, who was recently re-elected as club president. After a season dominated by their Catalan rivals, Real Madrid aims to quickly rebuild a competitive squad. Before Cucurella, the arrivals of Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konaté and Bernardo Silva had already been confirmed for the coming weeks.
With four top-tier reinforcements already secured, the White House is displaying clear ambitions for the upcoming season, and Real Madrid’s summer transfer window is far from over.
