Rashford linked to Arsenal as United brace for busy final days of transfer window

Manchester United are bracing for a hectic close to the summer transfer window, with multiple first-team players linked with exits before the market shuts at 11pm on September 1.

Arsenal, the reigning Premier League champions, have been credited with renewed interest in Marcus Rashford. Reports suggest the north London club are considering the England forward as a potential replacement for Gabriel Martinelli, who is expected to leave the Emirates this window.

Aston Villa have reportedly made a move for Amad, the Ivory Coast winger who missed United’s opening Premier League fixture against Hull City through a minor injury. The 22-year-old has attracted significant interest after an impressive loan spell at Sunderland last season, and Villa’s approach signals that United could lose another attacking option before the deadline.

Two further departures appear close to being confirmed. Joshua Zirkzee, the Dutch striker who joined from Bologna last summer, has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, and United are said to be open to letting him leave. Toby Collyer is expected to re-join West Bromwich Albion, who had the midfielder on loan for part of last season, on a permanent basis.

On the academy front, two young players have already completed moves to Arsenal. James Scanlon has signed permanently for the Gunners, while defender Habeeb Ogunneye has announced his own departure from Old Trafford and is expected to follow his former academy team-mate to north London.

With outgoings dominating the agenda, United are also monitoring potential additions. The club retain an interest in signing a left-back, and Alexander Sorloth and Ian Maatsen have both been linked as targets in the final days of the window. Should Zirkzee depart, a replacement striker would also become a priority before the deadline.
